ABOUT THE AWARD

1. What is the Cybicon Awards for Innovation & Enterprise (CAIE)?

CAIE is a national recognition platform that celebrates individuals advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation through exceptional contributions in technology, innovation, and system design.

CAIE is convened by a collective of technology leaders, policy advisors, senior practitioners, and innovation-focused institutions committed to spotlighting credible talent within Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.

We don’t reward hype. CAIE honors individuals based on proven contributions, measurable innovation, ethical practice, and long-term impact within Nigeria’s digital space.

CAIE is currently in its debut edition. However, it is backed by respected voices across industry, government, and academia who have helped shape Nigeria’s digital evolution.

Eligible fields include (but are not limited to): software engineering, data science, cybersecurity, product design, AI/ML research, robotics, cloud systems, tech policy, civic tech, and digital infrastructure.

ELIGIBILITY & NOMINATION

Only individuals, tech professionals currently working in Nigeria or contributing to national tech development. Group or organizational nominations are not accepted.

Yes. Self-nominations are encouraged, as long as all requirements are met and documentation is submitted in the correct format.


No, but all nominee must have contributed/contributing significantly to the Nigeria Technology space.

Yes. Nominees must have at least three years of verifiable professional experience in a tech-related role.


Yes, but each submission must be clearly tailored to the specific category, with a distinct application and documentation.

DOCUMENTATION & PROCESS

1. What documents are required for individual nominations?
Nominees must submit:
  • A valid government-issued ID
  • A personal impact statement (template provided)
  • A professional CV
  • A recommendation letter
  • Any supporting evidence (e.g., media features, published research, open-source contributions, case studies, etc.)

Yes. Templates for the impact statement and reference letter are provided and must be used for submission to be valid.

Submissions are reviewed based on five core criteria:

  • Depth of Impact
  • Innovation and Originality
  • Technical Execution
  • Consistency and Ethics
  • National or Sector Relevance

Each criterion is scored on a scale of 0–5.

Your nomination will undergo initial screening, followed by expert panel review. Shortlisted candidates proceed to the final stage, which may include additional verification.

No. Once submitted, your nomination is considered final. Be sure to cross-check all documents before uploading.

AWARD CEREMONY & RECOGNITION

Winners will be announced during the official CAIE Award Ceremony. All shortlisted candidates will be notified beforehand.

Winners receive:

  • An official CAIE trophy
  • A digital winner’s badge
  • National media recognition
  • Access to CAIE partner networks
  • A personalized digital celebration kit


While CAIE's core value is recognition, select categories may attract sponsored grants, fellowships, or development opportunities.

The ceremony will be held as a physical event in Lagos, Nigeria, with highlights and key segments streamed online.
